These are beautiful lakes located at the base of Mt. Muhabura and close to the Uganda border. Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo are surrounded by steep hills and large waterfalls with a backdrop of the Virunga volcanic mountains. Burera and Ruhondo are separated by a 1km wide strip of land. Water flows from Lake Burera to Lake Ruhondo. Lake Ruhondo and Lake Burera have a combined area surface of 28000 hectare. During the village ride to the twin lake you will have time to interact with locals on your way. Lunch will be served at the beautiful Ruhondo resort which we will take after crossing the lake with a motor boat. Fresh Rwandan coffee is available and you can choose to have fresh fish from the lake on your menu with views of 5 peaks of the volcanoes. Then we will ride back to La locanda Hostel or Garden Palace Hotel for an refreshment then transfer to Gisenyi(Rubavu) overnight At Inzu lodge or Paradise Marahide A proximate Drive 1:30. The Congo Nile Trail is a trail along Lake Kivu that divide both Congo and Nile basin extending from Rubavu, continues through Rutsiro District, Karongi District, Nyamasheke District and ends in Rusizi District . The trail covers a total distance of 215 km with beautiful landscapes view of rolling hills and great sights of beautiful waters of Lake Kivu. The entire trail can be completed in 5 days. On this day after having breakfast will commence our biking from the lodge and ride along lake kivu and varrious villages with different plantation via the waterfall of cyimbiri through rural settlements in the small fishing village of Nkora where we will have lunch and later on proceed to Kinunu and have an overnight at Rushel kivu logde. After a refreshing breakfast we will Continuing biking along the Congo Nile trail which we consider one of the best experience as we will ride along the Lake for long and passing through plenty of banana plantation which is used in production of banana beers and have beautiful view and get to understand the origin of Congo Nile name while crossing KOKO river then have our stop over for our take away lunch. After, we will continue with our tour to Mushubati where we will mark the end of dirt road (30km) and join the tarmac for the rest 26kms to Kibuye and have an overnight at Home Saint Jean Hotel. However, the trail is challenging due to the long distance covering many uphills and downhills. Cycling distance 32 km Surfaces: Dirt road , Difficult: Easy to moderate

After our breakfast in the morning and embark on our journey where we will have a drive for about 50min to our starting point at Gisovu Tea Plantation. We shall ride to the source of the Nile and across Nyungwe National Park (45min ride) which will give us a spectacular view of the park. Riding out of the park we will have long descent to ward tarmac road heading to Kibogora Missionary Guest House for our an overnight. Our best ride Rwanda has come to an end and it’s time to get back to the city. We shall all meet at the hotel bistro with our packed bags and have breakfast while our guides load all your packed luggage to the van ready for departure to Kigali (3-4hrs drive) via nyungwe national park (approximately 2 hours drive within the park ) with a stop over at Butare town for lunch. The transfer will be to the hotel where you will have a free afternoon and an overnight at saint Etienne hotel or Lemigo Hotel and last dinner.

After your breakfast you will meet our tour guide (s) headed by Mr. Yannick for a city tour and Kigali genocide memorial visit after you will have lunch.
